On Friday, April 22nd, the Davis High School track and field team traveled to Chico State University for the West Valley/Chico Invitational. The Blue Devils faced off with some of the valley's most talented athletes. In a rain-soaked ring, Lauren Guerrieri took third in the discus with a throw of 113-09. Senior captain Kara DiBiasio ran a season best 61.70 to qualify for the finals in the girls 400m dash, where she finished sixth. In the triple jump, junior Amy Elson captured a fourth place finish with a jump of 33'07". On the boys' side, Abas Jemal qualified for the finals in both the 110m and 300m hurdles. Sophomore, Sidd Aradhya took seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 40'3.25". The boys 4x400m relay raced to an exciting fourth place finish. Davis High distance runners had a fine day as well with Brendan Gregg leading the way with a second place finish in the boys seeded 1600 meters in 4:27.25. Kaitlin Gregg took fifth in the girls 3200 meter run, Scott Halliday finished in sixth in the boys 3200 meter race, Jonah Weeks and Patrick Lynch both were eighth in their 1600 meter races.
