Hasay 9:52.13 - 2nd best US high school all time, Chetelat 9:52.51 - 3rd best US high school all time. First time ever that two girls run sub 10 minutes for 3200 meters in the same race! The Girls 4x4 finishes 17th overall and runs a season best 3:58.36. Congratulations to Melinda, Josephine, Elliana, and Rebecca for a fantastic effort and a fantastic season! The girls ran a season best when it counted most! Awesome job!

Nathan wins the open 110h out of lane 9, Laurynne easily wins the invitational 1600, Rebecca 58.8/2:19.93 double in the 4x4/800m, Dillon takes second in the F/S 3200. Rio Linda Invitational-Tuesday, 3/25 at Rio Linda High School The small group we brought performed very well! Check out the meet results on athletic.net. We are still waiting for some of the FAT times and marks for a few athletes.
Sacramento State Classic- Two weeks of heavy, early season training and multiple meets culminated on March 15, when the DHS track and field team competed in the Sacramento State Classic. In the girls 400m Melinda Zavala and Rebecca Hammond finished 3rd and 5th and recorded excellent early season times of 60.44 and 61.12 respectively. In his second race ever, sophomore newcomer Derek Nelson ran an impressive 53.77 in the boys 400m dash. In the 100 hurdles Josephine Devanbu finished 4th in 16.90. Cody Larue finished 8th in the boys hurdles running 17.29. Pia Wandscheer Jenna Strack, and Tanja Hopmans performed well in the long jump finishing 4th, 6th, and 7th. Alex Bell led the boys jump squad taking 8th in the triple jump. The Davis High distance squad continued to run well in the early season. Laurynne Chetelat easily captured the girls 1500 meter race with a time of 4:38.53, finishing over ten seconds ahead the second place runner, Brooke Holt from Granite Bay. Matt Petersen and Christine Bowlus both were fourth for 3000 meters, with each running personal best times of 8:55.49 and 10:45.92 respectively. Corey Coates had a fine double effort, taking sixth in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:02.76 and ninth in the 1500 meter race in 4:11.18. The Blue Devils posted many great times and distances in the first meet of the season. Thank you parents for volunteering to help! We had a fantastic parent group in all event areas. Congratulation to everyone who participated in the Granite Bay practice meet! The weather was beautiful and so were the performances. We had many excellent jumps, throws, and races from all four divisions. Aside from the transportation issues, the meet was very successful. Click here for individual meet results.
