Summer Track and Field/Cross Country Opportunities...
The "Davis Community Track and Field Club" will kick off its 2011 Summer Session in June. The group targets all experience levels; ages range from 4th to 12th grades. For high school athletes, this is an important time to fine tune those vaulting, hurdling, jumping skills. Visit the club website for more information: www.dctfc.com

Davis High boys win first ever Sac-Joaquin Section Track and Field team championship!
Ian Rock wins the pole vault and the long jump, 5th in the high jump. Boys 4 x 400 take 2nd place.
Courtney Williams 4th in the 100, Nick Denton 5th in the shot put, Alec Zavala 5th in the 400.
Trevor Halsted, Brian De La Mora, Mac Harvey, and Braeden Van Deynze sweep places 1 through 4 in the 1600.
Halsted and De La Mora take 1st and 3rd in the 3200. Paul Mohr takes 4th in the 800.
Sophie Meads 5th in both the 1600 and 3200, Hannah Krovetz 5th in the 800.
Nate Stenson, Tess Williams, Laney Teaford, Rachel Brooks, and Maddie Trost qualify for Masters.

Top five varsity finishers qualify for Sac-Joaquin Section Championships next week.
6th and 7th place varsity finishers will be alternates for the SJS Championships.
Varsity Athletes: Plan on practicing next week if you finished in the top 7 at the DVC meet.
All other team members are invited to continue to coming to practice for the next two weeks.

Sacramento State High School Track Classic
This was a great opening meet for DHS Track and Field. Alec Zavala takes third in the 400m - 50.36; Ian Rock wins the vault - 15-00; Nick Denton - 45' in the shot and 118' in the disc; Loads of other fantastic DHS marks! Great job Blue Devils!
