    Drug and Alcohol Policy

DHS Track and Field Drug and Alcohol Policy

Dear parents and student-athletes,

As a member of the Davis High School Track and Field team you are obligated to abide by the following team rules: 1. Do not consume alcoholic beverages. 2. Do not use illegal drugs.

Consequences can range from probation to team expulsion. By choosing to violate these rules an athlete forfeits his or her right to be on this team. There will be no warnings. Please do not join this team if you plan to drink alcohol or use drugs.

The use of alcohol is illegal and violates both school and team policies. Moreover, alcohol consumption can result in injury and poor performance. It blocks protein synthesis, provides empty calories, and causes dehydration. Athletes on this team work too hard to ruin their progress with alcohol.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the team alcohol policy. I would like to address any misunderstandings, questions, or concerns as soon as possible.

Very truly yours,

Spencer Elliott
