On Wednesday, May 12, the Davis High School Varsity track team traveled to Vallejo High School for day one of the MEL League Championships. The Blue Devils posted a variety of quality jumps, throws, and runs. Although the meet was trials in the running events, several field events went straight to finals. In the Men’s High Jump, Junior, Marcellus Brookshaw placed 6th overall with a PR of 5-08.00. In the Triple Jump, Sophomore, Abas Jemal placed 7th with a PR of 41-00.50. On the girl’s side, Freshman, Lauren Guerrieri took 2nd overall while her teammate, Maia Kostlan finished 4th in the discus throw. A Plethora of Blue Devil athletes advanced from the trial to the finals in the various running events. The meet sets the stage for the Davis High School Track and Field team to make a run at the MEL League Championship this Friday, May 14. Field events will begin at 2:00, while running events will begin at 4:00.
