Congratulations, athletes, on a great day at the SJS D1 Championships!
Here are the Masters qualifiers from Thursday's running events: Sierra Baptiste, Emma Vogt, Ciara Wallace, and Maya Yikilmaz in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays; Alex Oldham and Ben Feyrer in the 110m hurdles; Maya Yikilmaz in the 400m; Beckett Dolan and Tim McMahon in the 800m; Alex Oldham in the 300m hurdles; Emma Vogt and Maya Yikilmaz in the 200m; and Alex Oldham, LJ Dixon, TJ Carroll, and Aidan Crawford in the boys 4x400m relay.
In the field events, Sierra Baptiste and Harper Pfeifer in the long jump; Sol Bitners and Sophie Coil in the shot put; Aidan Crawford and Cooper Ballard in the long jump; Mack Herman in the discus; and Mimi Abbker in the high jump.
We had a great day yesterday at the Sac Joaquin Section D1 Championship Trials. For those of you who weren’t there, here’s what went down, starting with our SJS Masters Meet qualifiers:
The girls discus throwers set the tone for the day. Sol Bitners is the SJS D1 Champ! She threw 138’11”. Sophie Coil finished 4th (120”2”) and Edison Hinrichs took 6th (114’4”). The girls combined for 18 points in what should be a close team battle between Davis and Whitney. Way to go, throwers!
Congrats to Emma Vogt, who took 4th in the triple jump. Emma had a very busy day, competing in four events!
The boys triple jumpers had a great day too, taking 2nd, 3rd, and 6th! Ben Feyrer jumped a PR 46’1.5”, Thomas Albeck jumped 44’11.25”, and Aidan Crawford jumped 43’8.25.”
The 4x800 relays went straight to a final yesterday. The girls 4x800m relay of Kailee Mallow, Avery Wolk, Ellie Ross, and Norah Feldt finished 2nd overall with a time of 9:37.94.
The boys team of Tim McMahon, Tomas Ferns, Beckett Dolan, and Jeffy Wright finished first overall in a blazing time of 7:52.60.
In addition to these qualifiers, we had numerous athletes in laned races move on to Thursday’s finals:
Congratulations, athletes! Davis High won all four divisions and wrapped up the season as undefeated Delta League Champs! We also qualified numerous athletes on to the Sac Joaquin Section Championships! Way to go!

Aidan Crawford win the day triple jump with 43'2.5" then comes back to drop a 50 split in the 4x4!
Norah Feldt runs 5:05.84 in the 16! She returned less than an hour later to run 2:19 in the 8.
Double PR day for Avery Wolk: 5:13.71 in the 1600 and 11:12.57 in the 32!
Kailee Mallow PRs in the 800: 2:27.16!
The girls 4x4 (Ciara, Emma, Sierra, and Maya) takes 2nd in the night meet with a massive season best: 4:00.53!
Emma, in addition to blazing a 58 split, PR'd in the triple jump: 36'5"!
Another big day for Sol! Double winner in the shot (40'7.25") and the discus (147'7")!
Sophie Coil PR'd in the shot: 35'11.5!
Edison Hinrichs PR'd in the disc: 112'9"!
