CIF State Meet

Congrats to our DHS State Meet Qualifiers: Tim, Beckett, Tomas, Jeffy, Thomas, Sol, Norah, Alex, Sierra, Emma, Ciara, and Maya! 

Sol Bitners had two huge PRs in Discus and took 2nd at State with a throw of 154-06! Sol also took 20th in Shot Put.

The Boys 4x800m (Tim McMahon, Beckett Dolan, Tomas Ferns, Jeffy Wright) broke their own school record and ran 7:42.14; they took 5th in State!!

Jeffy Wright doubled up by also racing the 1600m, finishing 16th.

Alex Oldham got 19th in the 300m Hurdles.

Norah Feldt got 22nd at State in the 1600m.

The girls 4x400 (Ciara Wallace, Emma Vogt, Maya Yikilmaz, Sierra Baptiste) were 22nd at state.

Thomas Albeck got a PR in Triple Jump with 45-03.75 and was 18th.

Sac Joaquin Section Masters Meet

We had a terrific two days at the SJS Masters Championships, qualifying twelve athletes on to the CIF State Meet. Wow!

State Meet Qualifiers! 

The boys' 4x800 Relay: Tim, Beckett, Tomas, and Jeffy! The guys finished 2nd overall in a time of 7:48.52.

Thomas Albeck in the triple jump! Thomas finished 3rd with a mark of 45'0.5."

Sol Bitners in the shot put and the discus! Sol threw 38'7" to finish 3rd in the shot. She came back and won the discus with a throw of 141'!

Norah Feldt in the 1600! Norah went sub-5 and won the event in an incredible 4:56.10.

Jeffy Wright in the 1600! Jeffy finished 2nd overall with a massive PR of 4:12.02!

Alex Oldham in the 300m hurdles! School record alert! Alex finished second in 38.42, which set a new Davis High School record! 

The girls 4x4! Sierra, Emma, Ciara, and Maya finished 3rd with a season-best time of 3:57.83.

Thursday's Finals: 

Congratulations, athletes, on a great day at the SJS D1 Championships! 

Here are the Masters qualifiers from Thursday's running events: Sierra Baptiste, Emma Vogt, Ciara Wallace, and Maya Yikilmaz in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays; Alex Oldham and Ben Feyrer in the 110m hurdles; Maya Yikilmaz in the 400m; Beckett Dolan and Tim McMahon in the 800m; Alex Oldham in the 300m hurdles; Emma Vogt and Maya Yikilmaz in the 200m; and Alex Oldham, LJ Dixon, TJ Carroll, and Aidan Crawford in the boys 4x400m relay.

In the field events, Sierra Baptiste and Harper Pfeifer in the long jump; Sol Bitners and Sophie Coil in the shot put; Aidan Crawford and Cooper Ballard in the long jump; Mack Herman in the discus; and Mimi Abbker in the high jump.

Tuesday's Trials:

We had a great day yesterday at the Sac Joaquin Section D1 Championship Trials. For those of you who weren’t there, here’s what went down, starting with our SJS Masters Meet qualifiers:

The girls discus throwers set the tone for the day. Sol Bitners is the SJS D1 Champ! She threw 138’11”. Sophie Coil finished 4th (120”2”) and Edison Hinrichs took 6th (114’4”). The girls combined for 18 points in what should be a close team battle between Davis and Whitney. Way to go, throwers!

Congrats to Emma Vogt, who took 4th in the triple jump. Emma had a very busy day, competing in four events!

The boys triple jumpers had a great day too, taking 2nd, 3rd, and 6th! Ben Feyrer jumped a PR 46’1.5”, Thomas Albeck jumped 44’11.25”, and Aidan Crawford jumped 43’8.25.”

The 4x800 relays went straight to a final yesterday. The girls 4x800m relay of Kailee Mallow, Avery Wolk, Ellie Ross, and Norah Feldt finished 2nd overall with a time of 9:37.94.

The boys team of Tim McMahon, Tomas Ferns, Beckett Dolan, and Jeffy Wright finished first overall in a blazing time of 7:52.60.
